1957 Giuseppe Corbella started a small steel construction business. His brother Ugo Corbella joined him in the same year to form the family company “Fratelli Corbella”. The business activity was limited to small steel construction jobs and commercial vehicles modification and maintenance. The two brothers’ initiative and the positive economical climate in those years allowed the company to grow quickly. The first machine tools were acquired to allow in-house manufacturing of needed spares. 1962 the company was in the position to purchase its own property and start with the building of the first workshop. Today, the company is still located on the same premises; the property, however, has now grown to over 14'000 sqm, 6'800 sqm of which are built.
With highly trained personnel, up-to-date and technological advanced machines tools (mostly CNC) and its own engineering department, the company is now in a position to successfully compete for complex orders in both domestic and international markets.
The original family business was converted into a limited company according to Swiss law in 1987. Counting on its extensive field related experience and technical know-how as well as on a solid financial background, “Fratelli Corbella SA” can look forward to a bright business future.
